Kentucky Fall Engagement Session | Megan + Jake

Engagements

This Kentucky Fall Engagement Session was right across the river from me, but it somehow feels like I’ve traveled hours to get to this place. Not only were the trees starting to pop with all the fall colors, this was in their BACKYARD. Literally. When Megan suggested doing her and Jake’s Engagement Session on their property in Northern Kentucky, I was thrilled with the idea! I always send a list of recommended locations and my favorite parks, but I really encourage my clients to think outside the box when it comes to location for their engagement session. A private property that they have access to, a family farm or a sentimental place that means a lot to the couple are always great options! Having their Engagement Session on their property would give us the privacy that public parks don’t offer, as well as the luxury of having the entire place to ourselves with no property restrictions. And y’all let me tell you…it was gorgeous. These beautiful hills and trees are only minutes away from me yet it nearly looks like it was a destination engagement session!

Megan and Jake were just the sweetest couple! And I know I say that a lot about my couples, but I truly mean it! I’m pretty sure I get some of the best! I left their engagement session wishing I could give them a big hug (thanks Covid) and secretly wishing I could tag along to their dinner plans because I felt like I had made some new friends! One of the best parts of being a photographer is the connection and friendships I build along the way. And I’m already counting down the days when I can hang out with them again (next October can’t get here fast enough!)

This view is everything! The hills, the tree line and the pops of fall is coming through big time! And y’all can we take a moment to appreciate Megan’s thigh high boots?!
